Barbara Anderson (Mrs. Rasp, Bus Driver) is happy to be sharing the Clockwise Theatre stage with her husband, Ed Kuffert. While she has never driven a bus, Barb brings to Mrs. Rasp her 31 years of experience teaching English at New Trier High School, where she also directed the annual Shakespeare production. Retired from teaching, Barb now acts, directs, does voiceovers, tutors, coaches actors, and hosts 15-Minute Shakespeare (http://www.artsentertainment.tv). Other Chicagoland theatres with which she has worked include Bowen Park, Infamous Commonwealth, Polarity, Halcyon (where she is a Company Member), Citadel, Attic, GroundUp, Inconceivable, and Oil Lamp. Among her favorite roles are Nora (Escape from Happiness); Lady Bracknell (Importance of Being Earnest); Mrs. Hardcastle (She Stoops to Conquer); Madame Arcati (Blithe Spirit); Boo (Last Night of Ballyhoo); First Player (Hamlet); Sharon (Bounty of Lace); Choragos (Oedipus Rex); and Sarah Prim (Bold Stroke for a Wife).
Matt Canon (Pierce) is thrilled to be making his debut with Clockwise Theater. He was last seen in Deerfield Family Theater’s production of Oliver! and has also been a part of their productions of Willy Wonk, and Bye Bye Birdie. Matt has also appeared in a number of shows with Big Deal Productions including Joseph, High School Musical, The Music Man, Beauty and the Beast, and Annie Get Your Gun. A student at College of Lake County, Matt is currently studying all aspects of theater and would like to thank Clockwise for this great opportunity to be a part of Special Needs.
Christopher Davis (Alpha) is thrilled to appear in a glorious, new theatre space for his first Clockwise production! Last May he graduated with a music/theatre degree from St. Olaf College in Minnesota, where he toured internationally with the choir and performed in over thirteen theatrical productions. He was most recently seen as Neville Landless in Drood at the Woodstock Opera House, Benny in Green Room Production’s Guys and Dolls, President Garfield’s crazed, evangelical murderer in St. Olaf’s Assassins, and the Pharoh in Woodstock’s Joseph and the Amazing.... He wholeheartedly thanks his Mom, friends, and cat, Dinah, for their support!
Catherine Hermes (Omega) Catherine is excited to be making her Clockwise Theatre debut in Special Needs. Catherine was last seen in the Women's Theatre Alliance of Chicago’s 18th Annual Actor's Scene Showcase. She has also appeared in the Citadel Theatre One-Act Festival, Hardboiled: The Detective Stories of Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett and The Shakespeare Sonnet Marathon (Azusa Productions), Bloody Poetry and The Ceremony of Innocence (Idle Muse Theatre Company), and An Ideal Husband and Private Lives (pretty blue sky theatre company). Catherine received a B.A. from Lake Forest College, and has studied acting at Piven Theatre Workshop. She is an artistic associate of Idle Muse Theatre Company and a member of the Women's Theatre Alliance of Chicago. Catherine would like to thank Madelyn, Alex, Maggie, and the cast for a wonderful experience working on the show.
Edward Kuffert (Matt) comes to Clockwise from playing Badger in City Lit’s Wind in the Willows. He has worked with several Chicago area theatres, including Infamous Commonwealth (Jeff-nominated performance as Danforth in The Crucible), Bowen Park, Inconceivable, Oil Lamp, Halcyon (where he’s a Company Member), Hubris, Stage Center, GroundUp, and Citadel. Besides Badger and Danforth, other favorite roles include Old Kipps (Woman in Black), Henry II (Lion in Winter), Claudius (Hamlet), Oberon (Midsummer Night’s Dream), Henry (Real Thing), Brian (Shadowbox), Stage Manager (Our Town), the Pope (Red Noses), and Caiaphas (Passion Play). In addition, Ed founded the North Shore Baroque Ensemble; has choreographed for Goodman, Pegasus, 9 Wise Fools, New Trier Shakespeare, and Pacific Players; and has worked extensively as a stage manager, combat coach, set designer, dialect coach, choral director, and stage director. He is happy to be able to share this stage with his wife, Barbara Anderson.
Brad Paschall (Brent) is very excited to be joining the wonderful experience that is Clockwise Theatre! Brad was born and raised in Waukegan and is extremely pleased to see all of the exciting changes that are happening to this town. Most recently Brad has been seen in shows at the Jack Benny Center for the Arts the most recent being Death of a Salesman , where he played Bernard. Brad is also a member of the Jack Benny Center’s improv troupe The Highly Improv-ables, who perform every Sunday at 7:00 (hey, the shows are free too!). A lover of the stage, Brad shows no sign of stopping his rampant path across Lake County stages.
Katie Rickel (u/s Jen) is attending College of Lake County and is thrilled to be working with Clockwise Theater. She has been involved in theater since age seven; she's been in several plays; has done tech work; and she has recently been doing choreography for CMJ, a children's theater company. She enjoys dancing, playing guitar, baking, and anything involving theater. She would like to thank her family, everyone in the show, and anyone who has believed in her.
Lisabeth Rohlck (Charlotte) has worked with various theatres such as Kaleidoscope Children's Theatre Company, The Griffin, Chicago Actor's Ensemble, Shattered Globe, Shakti Dance, Fourth Wall, and Gurnee Theatre Company. She is so happy to be working with Clockwise and getting the opportunity to play this great mom role. She also is a mom in real life and thanks her two boys for being so flexible and supportive. Thanks also to Madelyn, Alex, JoAnne, Whitney, Kathy, Tina, and anyone else who watched the boys, gave rides and helped out! A sincere thanks to Tom.
Katie Szajkovics (Jen). This is Katie Szajkovics's first professional stage role. A junior at Warren Township High School, she has been performing in school productions and community theatre since the age of eight. She has studied dance since the age of three and has musical training in voice, piano, and clarinet. Katie competes on the Warren Speech team in competitive speech events. She is a member of the Symphonic One Band at Warren Township High School. Credits include: Scrooge, Honk!, Grease (Cha Cha), Bourgeois Gentlemen (Dance Master), and High School Musical: On Stage (Kelsi). She has studied acting since the age of eight with The Piven Theatre, Northlight Theatre Academy, TVI Studios, and Acting Studio Chicago. Katie has done commercial work in Chicago and is looking to continue her acting career through college.
Christina Thodos (Connie) is delighted to be making her debut with Clockwise Theatre. She earned her degree in theatre at Northwestern, and since graduating, has performed in Three Sisters and American Voices with Piven, RAW with WNEP, The Day Patient with Shapeshifters, Mouse in a Jar (work-shopped) with Red Tape, Bright Star with North Lakeside Players, Trust with Lookingglass, and has done numerous film and television projects. Thank you to Madelyn and everyone involved in Special Needs for such a wonderfully collaborative experience, and to mom for all her love and support.
